Property Tax Appeals
Critical Dates
|
Feb.
1, your tax assessment card should be mailed to
you on this date.
|
| April
1, you must deliver your tax appeal to the County
Board of Taxation, Township Clerk, and County Tax Assessor
by this date. |
| May
1, only if your municipality has completed a district
wide revaluation the appeal filing deadline is extended
to May 1. This is a new law for 2008. |
| 3
years, the Freeze Act provides that if you prevail
on a tax appeal, the assessor cannot modify your tax
assessment for a minimum of two years after you win.
This means a minimum of three years tax savings. Most
municipalities separate tax re-evaluations by many years.
Your win at the County Tax Board may serve you for years
into the future. |

TIME, TIME, TIME - between Feb. 1 and April 1, you must
receive your property tax assessing card with your current year
taxes. Evaluate whether your assessment is too high and thereby
rendering your taxes too high and whether you will take advantage
of the services of a professional with years of experience in
property tax appeals for commercial, office, multi-family, and
residential dwellings. Time is of the essence. When you call,
ask about Mr. Horn's next Property Tax Seminar in your area!
